Name of wine: Barefoot Fruitasco

Varietal: Moscato

Region: California

Country: United States

Year: 2019

Price: $7.99

Shop/wine critic: "Pale pink coral color. Aromas of watermelon, fresh peach, honeysuckle, and apricot with a soft, crisp, petillant, moderately sweet light body and a polished, medium-length strawberry candies and ripe peach finish. A fresh and fruity sweet Moscato that will hit the spot. (https://www.tastings.com/Wine-Review/Barefoot-Fruitscato-NV-Peach-California-USA-1.5L-06-10-2020.aspx) "

References of specific flavors: ORANGE BLOSSOM, MANDARIN ORANGE, RIPE PEAR, LYCHEE, HONEYSUCKLE

Your review: This is a very sweet wine that is okay for a low-quality and cheap wine. It goes well with the low alcohol content.  You can smell and taste the peach and pear aromas of this wine.

Wine #2:

Name of wine: Tonschiefer "Dry Slate" Riesling

Varietal: Riesling

Region: Nahe

Country: Germany

Year: 2019

Price: $29.99

Shop/wine critic:" If you tell me that you don't like Riesling because it's "too sweet," I'll bet you haven't tasted enough Riesling. Donnhoff’s 2021 Tonschiefer Riesling is one that will convert you. In Germany, 2021 gave the vines dry weather with moderate temperatures. This resulted in wines of crispness, freshness, and elegance. As soon as you pour, you’ll note subtle aromas of freshly cut fruit such as mangoes, nectarines, and limes. The palate will confirm this fresh fruit and add a note of mouth-cleansing acidity. You’ll also feel a sensation of river stones. This is all integrated into a dry, laser-like focus. The estate is currently run by 3rd and 4th-generation Helmut and Cornelius Donnhoff. The grapes are sourced from Donnhoff’s original Oberhauser Leistenberg vineyard (one of 10 Donnhoff sites). Serve with Burrata and fresh peaches (https://www.astorwines.com/item/27399)."

References of specific flavors: APRICOT, MEYER LEMON, BEESWAX, PETROLEUM, WET SLATE

Your review: I really liked this wine a lot and was a good bargain for the price it is at. It tastes very fruity and has an initial apple taste.

If you had food: None
